easyJet has launched two new routes to the Spanish cities of Palma and Malaga from London Southend Airport. The daily flight to Malaga will depart from easyJet’s Essex base with fares starting from £24.99. Flights to Palma from London Southend Airport will be available four times a week from £26.99. easyJet will also begin its new Jersey route from London Southend Airport this week, with fares starting from £17.99 (one-way, including taxes). The inaugural flight will take off on Wednesday afternoon (2 May) and will fly five times a week to the Channel Island. Hugh Aitken, easyJet UK commercial manager, said: “The new routes from London Southend Airport are the perfect opportunity for our south east passengers to escape the spring showers and enjoy a traditional holiday destination in the sun. At easyJet we are determined to make travel even easier and more affordable for all and thanks to these new routes many of our popular summer sun destinations are more accessible to people across Essex and the south east. “The launch of these three new routes from London Southend Airport serves as another example of our commitment to our customers across the region and we believe this makes it the ideal gateway for both business and leisure travel across Europe.” easyJet currently operate more than 70 flights a week from London Southend Airport to 12 destinations across Europe from Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Ibiza, Jersey, Majorca and Malaga. Geneva will commence from December and Venice from February 2012.
