First VIP train
Aswan - MENA

The first VIP train, that set off from Cairo late on Saturday, arrived at Aswan railway station early Sunday, a source at the southern area of Aswan Railway said.

This is the first test-run of the Egyptian-manufactured VIP train.

The trip takes 12 hours.

The new train will be operational three days a week between Cairo and Aswan.

It will leave Aswan at 5:00 p.m en route to Cairo.

The train was manufactured by the Arab Organization for Industrialization's Semaf factory and over 50 percent of its components were locally manufactured.

The new train is equipped with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi internet service, health services including a medic for urgent cases, and security cameras in every vehicle,

Another VIP train got operational on Cairo-Alexandria line days ago.
