Budget carrier Flydubai has signed a 10-year contract worth over $300 million with GE Aviation for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of its 109 engines, the budget carrier said today in a statement. The OnPoint solution agreement was signed at this week's Paris Air Show, representing an investment of $2 million per CFM56-7B engine that power flydubai's fleet of Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft. The carrier said in a statement that some engines will have more than one shop visit, putting the total value of the contract at more than $300 million.
