The spokesman of the French Navy said that French and Greek jets as well as a Greek frigate took part in the search operations of the missing EgyptAir plane.
Other capabilities will be provided according to the needs of the Egyptian authorities which will coordinate the search operations.
He further underlined that the operations will include first search for passengers on board of the plane and then recovering the wreckage of the plane as well as the black box which will be picked up by submarines.
Earlier, EgyptAir announced that 30 Egyptian and 15 French people are among the missing flight's passengers.
The national flag carrier has earlier said that Flight MS804 with 66 persons on board vanished from radar 10 miles after entering the Egyptian air field.
Some 56 passengers along with 10 crew members were on board the Airbus A320.
