All the country's ports are working normally and meeting international safety and security criteria, Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) said on Tuesday.
In a press statement, the KPA quashed reports published by some newspapers on Monday that the country's ports could shut down due to failure to fulfill safety and security standards.
"Such reports are untrue and baseless," it said, pointing that the ports' management didn't receive any official warning from concerned authorities in this regard either inside or outside the country.
International inspection teams pay periodical visits to Kuwaiti ports for checking and making recommendations, it noted.
It even urged local newspapers to ensure accuracy so as not to publish reports that could undermine the ports' reputation.
