Passengers at Rafik Hariri Beirut Airport increased more than 6 percent in first 10 months of 2012 in spite of a decline in the number of flights and transit passengers, a report by the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority said. The number of passengers during October, the report said, reached 46,473, some 5 percent higher than in October last year. The number of inbound passengers increased 3.56 percent in the first 10 months of 2012 while outbound passengers increased 7.93 percent. However, the number of transit passengers, those who are only in Beirut for connecting flights, plummeted 32 percent in the first 10 months, the report added.
