Employees at Salt Lake City International Airport were on high alert briefly Monday because of a suspicious package spotted in the lower B Concourse. Hazardous materials staff responded to the incident at about 6:30 a.m., The Salt Lake Tribune reported. By 7:15 a.m., the threat alert had been diminished, and operation at the airport resumed as normal. The package was likely a piece of lost or abandoned luggage, the report said, adding airport personnel were still investigating the incident. Airport spokesman Dave Korzep said Southwest Airlines flights, which depart from the area of the terminal where the package was found, were on schedule and no passenger interruptions were reported.
