The number of tourists visiting Egypt declined in November by about 37.8% as the country received nearly 558,600 tourists against 898,200 in the same month last year, an official annual bulletin said.
The tourists came mainly from Western Europe, making up 40% of the total influx in November, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Tourists from Eastern Europe and the Middle East constituted 28.5% and 17.2% respectively, it added.
The remaining 14.2% came from Africa, Asia, the US and other countries.
Tourists spent an average total of 5 million nights in the described month compared to 10.3 million nights last year, according to the report.
