Cairo - MENA

An integrated traffic plan has been created to overcome traffic congestion and ease transport movement throughout the holy month of Ramadan, chief of the traffic police department Maj. Gen. Magdy Ezz Eddin said on Sunday.

In exclusive statements to MENA, Ezz Eddin stated that he gave directives to beef up security efforts across all governorates in Ramadan throughout the day with a view to facing traffic problems and facilitating transport movement across main axes and squares.

Coordination between the traffic department flagship traffic operation room - which includes CCTV cameras for major Cairo and Giza axes as well entrances and exits of the capital - and traffic checkpoints would help in facilitating traffic movement, the traffic official said.

He added that rescue services will be activated and boosted to serve citizens in emergency cases through contacting the hotlines of the traffic department operations room (01221110000 / 0224021233).

Ezz Eddin further said that vehicles along with fixed and mobile radar devices will be installed on all roads and axes to detect speed violators.
