Train traffic was resumed one hour after it has been forced to a halt by unknown persons who torched tires on the railway tracks near Kafr Gamal in Tokh township.
Qalubiya Security Chief General Mahmoud Youssri said security bodies are currently intensifying their search to hunt down the vandals.
The torched tires delayed Cairo-Port Said train for almost one hour and Cairo-Alexandria road for about 40 minutes, he added.
A reliable source at Qalubiya security directorate said investigators team is currently working on identifying the culprits, noting that such incident aims at impeding the governorate's celebrations of its national day.
