Rome - ANSA

Tourism, one of the most important sectors of the Tunisian economy, is improving after the post-''revolution'' crisis from the end of 2010 until the beginning of 2011 which brought to the fall of the regime of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. According to the most recent data from January to the end of August 2012, the number of tourists grew 35.3% compared to the same period last year but is still lower than in 2010 (-14.9%). The first eight months of 2012, the Tunisian Central Bank said, brought revenues of 1805 million dinars (a little less than 900 million euros, according to today's exchange rates), with a significant increase compared to last year (1334 million dinars), but still less than in 2010 (2121,5 million dinars).
