The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government approved a new visa system designed to attract top talents in fields such as medicine, science and research to the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said on Sunday.
“The United Arab Emirates is the land of opportunities,” Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter after the cabinet meeting. Attracting top talents will “add to our economy and future,” he said. He didn’t provide further details.
Under the current law, the UAE doesn’t offer permanent residency to expatriates.
Sheikh Mohammed is also the vice president of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai.
