As the world focused on the chemical attack allegations in Syria, 89 people were killed in Syria using tradition weapons on Wednesday, bringing the
day’s total number of casualties to 1427, according to the opposition Local Coordination Committees. The 89 killed included 13 women, 12 children and three who died under torture, the committees said.?
The Committees said 35 of the casualties were killed in Damascus and its suburbs, 19 in Idlib, 13 in Hama, ??11 in Aleppo, 6 in Deir Ezzor, 4 in Homs and one in Deraa.?
The Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Wednesday attacked several governmental checkpoints in Hama, north of Homs, the political ?security headquarters in Deraa in the South, and shot down a governmental aircraft in Damascus.?
Local Coordination Committees recorded 521 instances of shelling, including air raids in 44 areas, the use of explosive ?barrels in Kafr Zeita, Nafir, Bdama, and Shoghour in Idlib and Der Hafer in Aleppo, 8 ?ground to ground rockets including six in Jobar in Damascus, one in Muadamiya and one on ?Dariya, a scud missile in northern Syria, cluster bombs in ?Saraqeb in Idlib, in addition to hundreds of instances of artillery, rocket and mortar shelling.
There were 168 clashes between FSA and governmental forces.?
In Damascus and its outskirts the FSA downed a helicopter and targeted ?governmental forces in Yarmouk camp in the south of the capital. In Jobar, the FSA targeted the government ?communications building, in Zabadani the rebels ?targeted the checkpoints of Harsh Bloudan, Khadam, Aqbe, Jum’iyat, Khazan, and Qala’at al-Tel with mortar shells and explosives.?
In Deraa, the FSA hit the political security headquarters in al-Kashef neighbourhood with mortar shells and launched missiles at Hamida al-Dhaher checkpoint.?
In Nawa in the southern city, the FSA destroyed a military convoy full of soldiers in Bajha.?
In Hama in west-central Syria, the FSA attacked regime military centres in the village of Asela, and shelled regime military centres ?in Tal Saken and Jib Ramla with Grad missiles.?
In Aleppo, the FSA attacked Souq al-Souf, Hatab Square and the battalion 84 with mortar shells, and targeted Kweres Military Airport with several missiles, in addition to launching several missiles at the towns of Nebl and al-Zahra.?
In al-Raqqa in Aleppo, the FSA targeted Tabqa Military Airport with several missiles and ?targeted regime forces centres in battalion 93 in Ain Eissa.?
In Homs, the FSA targeted centres of regime forces in the northern countryside of the city ?using Grad missiles, while in Deir Ezzor, the rebel fighters targeted government army centres in the al-Sana’a neighbourhood.
