Hours before the launch of Geneva talks over the Syrian crisis, the military situation witnessed notable escalation especially in the fronts surrounding the Syrian capital of Damascus. According to Spokesperson of Syrian opposition, the combating factions achieved notable advance on the east northern side of Damascus on Tuesday.

He added that they managed to restore the sites they lost before the governmental troops on Saturday. He added that the fighters are near the heart of the Syrian capital. Syrian governmental media revealed that the Syrian army clashed with the militants who attacked a main road leading to Damascus. According to reports, the opposition's fighters stormed Jober district only one day after its liberation from the extremist militias.

Spokesperson of Syrian opposition Faylaq Al Rahman group Wael Elwan said, "We launched the second phase of our operations as we restored the points from which we withdrew yesterday. We launched an attack against the governmental troops existed in the  eastern side of Damsscus." He added that the attack comes to open the road for ending the siege imposed on Qabon district by the governmental troops.

He added that his troops managed to control a number of sites, including the spinning and weaving laboratories and the power station existed in the industrial zone located between the district's of Jober and Qabon. He added that the militants managed to kill a number of governmental troops and the other militants working with them. 

He added that the opposition in Syria is committed to the rules of International Humanitarian Law, stressing their keenness to protect the civilian people, diplomatic missions and the buildings related to the foreign embassies.

In Hama, the opposition militias managed to control a number of cities and villages in Hama's northern countryside after increasing clashes with the governmental troops loyal to Assad's regime. Meanwhile, Syrian military sources revealed that the opposition managed to control Soran city.

According to sources, the armed people loyal to the Syrian opposition targeted Hama military airport after clashes with the the governmental troops and their allies. The sources added that the the militants targeted the airport with over 40 missiles, leading to the destruction of two fighter jets. The governmental troops responded to the attack with a number of air raids on Hama's countryside.
