Awad said that the state’s regime will be "mixed" and the prime minister and government will be appointed by the majority party.
Chancellor Awad informed that a 10-member technical committee has been entrusted with amending Egypt's 2012 constitution, which suggested cancelling the Shura Council. However a final decision will be taken by a 50-member committee, which will represent all major stakeholders in Egypt.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s presidency announced the end of the first phase of its roadmap, as the 10-member technical committee completed its debut task on Tuesday, following 30 days of formation.
In a press statement, the Egyptian presidency affirmed that the second phase of the roadmap was in parallel with the first phase and that the final formation of the 50-member committee will be announced shortly.
The statement also reinforced the presidency's willingness to achieve goals related to the roadmap, stating that it will not allow any attempts to disrupt the country's democratic process nor any that seek to terrorise Egyptians.
