Hamas and Fatah agree to end disputes through consensus
Gaza - Mohamed Habib

Hamas and Fatah agree to end disputes through consensus “A high level Egyptian security delegation visits both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, next week, to follow up with the reconciliation and the forming of a government of national consensus, in addition to address the causes of the slow process of reconciliation sessions,” Palestinian sources told Arabstoday.
Egyptian sources pointed out the persistence on Egypt’s side to achieve reconciliation, and for it to be reflected on the ground, in a way that affects the Palestinian status quo, “that’s why we are keen to do what it takes and go to Gaza and the West bank, to contribute to that in a practical and effective manner to abolish the split.”
The real test of the sincerity of intentions to heal division is to form a government of national consensus.  According to the Egyptian source who pointed out their hope for the election to be held by the end of January, as agreed.
Ibrahim Abu Naja, a member of Fatah’s delegation in the Reconciliation Community Commission, criticized the statements of the head of the Central Election Commission, Hisham Kahil, saying that holding elections as scheduled in May is unlikely. Abu Naja told the press, on Friday, that Kahil “is not entitled to talk about the date of the elections.” He pointed out that Kahil released this statement before taking any practical steps on the ground, and that it would have been better if he started to work, before the commission releases the report about the possible time for this election.
Abu Naga spoke about the communications held to discuss its formation, without giving further details .
The Fatah leader, however, pointed out that this is discussed between the leaders of both parties. He stressed that Fatah is committed to implementing all provisions of the reconciliation agreement, aiming at ending the state of division. He indicated that the Palestinian citizens will be able tell who is in fact working for the reconciliation.
Ismail Al-Ashkar, Hamas leader and a member of its delegation in the reconciliation committee, said "The prime minister of Gaza Ismail Haniyeh, will meet with delegations from Fatah and Hamas to discuss reconciliation, Saturday,” but Abu Naja expressed that Fatah is "not aware of the arrangements for this meeting”.
