The former Egyptian vice president Omar Suleiman
Cairo – Akram Ali

The former Egyptian vice president Omar Suleiman Cairo – Akram Ali The former Egyptian vice president Omar Suleiman expressed his gratitude to his supporters, as well the organisers of his presidential electoral campaign. After being excluded from running , the former intelligence chief said, in a press statement to his supporters, that he had responded to their call after he saw their determination and enthusiasm in helping him complete the powers of attorney and garner support  needed to run for president.
He added that their efforts have succeeded as he was able to submit his documents to the commission. Suleiman said he was proud, humbled and surprised by the reaction of people, but on the other hand. However he added that he also received hysterical reactions, had abusive language directed at him and was threatened with weapons against him, which in his view was greatly dissapointing. He added that he is ready for the the political isolation law that was being prepared which will paralyse any future political aspirations that he may have. He noted that the new presidential law does not comply with the constitution and the is unconstitutional and against the  UN human rights charter.
Suleiman concluded by saying that he respects the Higher Presidential Elections Commission decision to ruling him out as a candidate for the Assiut governorate, by  saying that he lives with the knowledge that he has spent 56 years serving hiscountry.
