Haniyeh “Hamas is the Jihadi movement of the MB
Cairo – Akram Ali
Hamas Prime Minister in Gaza's government, Ismail Haniyeh visited headquarters of Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo on his visit to Egypt, which comes in a tour around the Arab and Islamic
world.
“Haas is an impressive model, everybody admires that when they see a Prime Minister like Ismail Haniyeh who prays with people,” the supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Mohamed Badie said.
"The Brotherhood has always embraced issues of liberation, foremost the Palestinian cause,” he added.
Hamas has served as a role model to the Brotherhood in its reconciliation with the Fatah movement and in closing the recent prisoner swap deal with Israel, he continued.
Haniyeh also met number of young members in MB, in addition to some senior officials such as: Khairat Al-Shater, Mahmoud Ghazlan, and Saad Al-Hosseni.
Meanwhile, Haniyeh described Hamas as the “jihadi movement of the Brotherhood with a Palestinian face.”
He said his visit to MB centre in Cairo would confuse and frighten Israel, adding “our presence with the Brotherhood threatens the Israeli entity.”
Haniyah accused Egypt’s former regime of helping in imposing a blockade on Gaza, considering the independence of Hamas in Gaza was the beginning of revolutions in Arab Spring.
About political prisoners in Gaza, and how Hamas will deal with this file in the reconciliation, Hanyiah confirmed that there are no political prisoners in Gaza.
It’s worth mentioning that Haniyeh’s 48-hour visit to Egypt included a meeting with the Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Arbi, on Monday afternoon, in which they discussed the future of Palestinian cause after the reconciliation.
