Local sources told Qasioun News, today, that the Islamic State group executed its prominent Legislator Abu Bakr al-Qahtani, due to a dispute between him and one of leaders, in an attempt to turn on the radical group.
The strongholds of the Islamic State in the city of Albukamal, east of Deir Ezzor, have previously witnessed vague security operations, resulting in the killing of several members of the Islamic State group, and forced the latter to impose a security cordon on the area. It is noteworthy that the Islamic State group lost a wide range of areas in the Syrian Badiyah and the countryside of Raqqa.
Syrian regime forces and allied militias managed, on Tuesday, to capture areas on the Syrian-Jordanian borders, in the eastern countryside of As Suwayda. Qasioun News reported, on Wednesday, that Syrian regime forces and allied militias managed to capture strategic areas near the borders with Jordan, after the withdrawal of the Syrian rebels from their locations in the eastern countryside of As Suwayda.
According to sources belong to the Syrian regime, the recaptured areas exceed 100 square kilometers; thus, government forces are only 10 kilometers away from the Syrian-Jordanian borders. Recently, Syrian regime forces and allied foreign militias managed to recapture a wide range of the Syrian Badiyah and eastern countryside of As Suwayda. It is noteworthy that the Syrian army launched an extensive offensive in the Badiyah area, in order to reach the borders of both Iraq and Jordan.
