A number of Palestinian citizens were injured on Friday Israeli forces fired a gas bomb on protesters in a reportedly peaceful march organised on the occasion of the 18th anniversary
of the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre.
Violent clashes also broke out between Palestinians and Israeli police in the Al-Aqsa mosque courtyards, where Israeli forces chased Palestinian youth who demonstrated after the Friday prayer against the "judaisation" and frequent incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque carried out by Israeli security forces and settlers, where one young man was killed.
Elsewhere, Palestinian youth participated in a peaceful march in Hebron organised by “Youth Against Settlements” and “Hebron Defence of Hebron”. The rally started at Tel Rumeida towards Shuhada Street in Quarantina, where participants performed the Friday prayer in Al-Arbaeen Mosque in solidarity with residents against occupation procedures and eviction policies, while police confronted another march in southern Hebron.
The Ibrahimi Mosque incidents 18 years ago led to a decree dividing the mosque's area and granted a greater part to the settlers while the surrounding area became military barracks. Hebron soon became a centre of Israeli-Palestinian clashes. Israeli settlers allegedly stone homes, curse people, mock Islamic and Christian faith, insult Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), cut off trees and damage properties.
During the weekly Al-Maasara march, in which some foreigners reportedly participated, Israeli forces prevented the participants from reaching the controversial Annexation wall.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided the village of Deir Kiddis in western Ramallah, and reportedly assaulted a number of citizens and detained one, who was said was beaten up with electric sticks until he fainted. Eyewitnesses claim the ambulance car was prevented from reaching him and tha man is now in prison.
Israeli forces reportedly deployed a number of soldiers in its streets and neighbourhoods in Zububa village, west Jenin.
