The local council of Libya's Bousleim area announced the cease-fire between the militants loyal to the National Salvation government and forces of internationally-recognized National Accordance government, as the ministries of Interior and Defense deployed their forces in the areas of the clashes that erupted between the two parties on early Friday.

The local council hosted the meeting attended by members of the conflicting national accordance government and salvation government in addition the country's security leaders to discuss the security situation and the possibility to cease fire. The organizers of the meeting called for withdrawing the militants to pave the way for implementing the agreement.

On his hand, U.N. Envoy to Libya Martin Kobler stressed the need for implementing a truce and conducting a national dialogue, raising the necessity of protecting the civilians and their possessions. He expressed deep concern over the clashes witnessed recently in the Libyan capital as they led to the killing of six persons, including two civilians.

Sources revealed that Bousleim hospital received a large number of injured people, saying that there is no formal statistics over the number of injured or killed people. Libyan Red Crescent revealed that they exert increasing efforts to evacuate the area from the residents.

The statement came after a meeting between the council's head Abdel Rahman Al Sowehily and U.S Ambassador to Tripoli Peter Body on the sideline of Sowehily's visit to Tunisia.

The American diplomat stressed that his country supports Skheirat Agreement, saying that they will resume their support for the National Accordance government. The ambassador, who currently works in Tunisia due to the current security situation in Libya, expressed their readiness to participate in building the Libyan army to be qualified for defending the country from the current threats facing the Libyan people.

Sowehily, on his hand, said that he is ready to contact with the different parties in the country to reach a compromise over the controversial issues. He stressed the need for allowing the different parties to participate in any agreement to rebuild the country without excluding any of them. He called the United Nations and the U.S Administration for preventing the attempts adopted by regional powers to interfere in the Libyan affairs.
