Ex-Libyan spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi to Libya
Nouakchott - Mohammad Sharif Abeidy

Ex-Libyan spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi to Libya Mauritanian authorities extradited Muammar Gaddafi's ex-spy chief to Libya on Wednesday, nearly five months after he was arrested for entering the country illegally. "Mauritanian authorities hand over ex-Libyan spy chief Abdullah al-Senussi to Libya," read a newsflash on the Mauritanian state news agency channel in Arabic.
Abdullah al-Senussi is wanted by France, Libya and the Internation Criminal Court for offenses committed before and during the Libyan Revolution in 2011.
Gaddafi's "right-hand man" was handed over to the Libyan Finance and Interior Ministers on Wednesday morning in Nouakchott. Sources in Nouakchott said, "a Libyan private plane has transported Sanusi from the Nouakchott to Tripoli."
Libya had pressed Mauritania to send Sanusi to receive Libyan justice. The former head of Libyan Transitional Council Mustafa Abdul Jalil told the Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz that, "he wished to deliver Sanusi to Libya to have a fair trial."
Mauritania arrested Sanusi in March, after trying to enter Mauritanian territories with a faked Malian passport. Later President Abdel Aziz stated his passport wasn’t faked. The Mauritanian judiciary had accused him of entering illegally and transferred him to the civil prison in Nouakchott.
