Part of Mosul's people in Iraq will spend Eid al-Adha's joy for the first time outside the grip of ISIS organization, but another part is still suffering from the war, which does not stop its tragedies even on Eid. There are number of people trapped outside the areas where their children existing in, and can not return to search for them and fear of their death under the rubble.
One of the displaced confirmed that this year he will be absent from his family when before the Eid, after his house and all his belongings were burned. "We do not have a place to go to and we do not have a holiday in this catastrophe," a displaced woman asked, while another displaced woman expressed concern about her daughters from artillery shelling.
Unusually, the government and UN failure have contributed to millions of Iraqi displaced people in mobilizing Iraqi society to help them in a humanitarian gesture that transcends sect, religion and race, and emphasizes the authenticity of Iraqi society.
Through popular campaigns spread in social networking sites, cafes and youth clubs throughout the country. Days ago, a campaign for collecting clothes emerged , focuses on collecting, washing, ironing, packaging and delivering clothing to displaced people in displacement camps to help them celebrate the holiday, as well as raise money and buy new clothes for them.
The campaign coincides with another campaign launched by journalists and activists, entitled " My sacrifies for the displaced" to collect sacrificial meat, to distribut it to the displaced in the camps.
"This campaign comes as part of social solidarity efforts and to help the displaced as well as to draw the smile on their children's lips in Eid al-Adha, at a time when they lack the most basic means of living," said activist Omar Mohammedi.
"This campaign has been preceded by numerous campaigns to aid displaced people and the distribution of humanitarian aid to them, organized by a number of civil society organizations and donors," he added.
