“The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, dismissed rumours about a personal dispute between him and the Mauritanian President Ould Abdel Aziz,” according to sources
at the 'Palais des Congrès' of Tunisia, where celebrations for the official anniversary of the fall of Ben Ali were held.
During their visit to Tunis, a group photograph was taken with the two leaders shaking hands warmly, reflecting the “very good” relations between them. This clashed with claims that the visit of the Qatari Emir to Nouakchott, last week, ended with him being expelled out of the country.
Mauritanian websites had published at the time stories of a quarrel taking place between the Emir and the President towards the end of the state visit
