The Saudi Royal Court announced early this morning the sad demise of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Royal Family and the nation mourned the Saudi monarch who passed away early Friday morning at 01:00 AM.
"With great sorrow and grief His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the Royal Family and the nation mourn the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who passed away at exactly 1 a.m. this morning," the court said.
The Royal Court announced that the funeral prayers would be held today following the afternoon prayers (Asr prayers) at Imam Turki bin Abdulla Grand Mosque in Riyad.
In another statement, the Royal Court announced that HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and HRH Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud had received the pledges of allegiance respectively as King and Crown Prince from members of the Royal Family.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and HRH Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud will receive pledges of allegiance from citizens on Friday evening after nightfall (Isha’a) prayers at the Ruling Palace in Riyadh.
