Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday received a phone call from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The phone call aimed to follow up bilateral relations after a visit to Egypt paid by Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence minister Muhammad bin Salman.

Presidency Spokesman Alaa Yousef said the two leaders affirmed their determination to work together to implement the Cairo Declaration, issued Thursday, which would contribute to achieving the interests of the Arab nation and jointly confronting risks that threaten Arab security and stability.

Sisi and Salman pledged to coordinate and work together to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields to achieve development and economic progress.

They also agreed to continue consultation and coordination at the bilateral and regional levels during the next phase.

King Salam thanked Sisi for his invitation to pay an official visit to Cairo.

A document entitled the "Cairo Declaration" was signed Thursday between President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and deputy Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.

The declaration aims at enhancing mutual cooperation between the two countries on six different levels, notably in the military, investment, trade, politics, culture and media sectors.

Under the Cairo Declaration, both sides agreed on realizing economic integration, intensifying investments, enhancing cultural cooperation and delimiting maritime boundary between the two Arab states.
