Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined keenness on beefing up parliamentary cooperation between Egypt and France.
Sisi made the remarks during a visit to the French Senate HQ late Wednesday where Senate President Gerard Larcher welcomed him upon arrival, the Egyptian presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi held a plenary session with the heads of the Senate committees and members of the Senate's Egyptian-French friendship group.
Larcher was glad to meet Sisi again after his recent visit to Cairo last year.
He lauded the achievements realized in Egypt at all levels despite the circumstances in the Middle East.
He commended the pivotal role played by Egypt to realize security and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, Sisi congratulated Larcher for his re-election for another term in mid October.
Sisi said he is keen on meeting with members of the Senate and the National Assembly.
Larcher expressed interest in boosting parliamentary ties between the two countries, voicing hope that Egyptian Parliament Speaker Abdel A'l would visit Paris soon.
The talks tackled means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various domains as well as ongoing international efforts to counter terrorism and the latest developments in the Middle East.
At the end of the talks, Larcher held a dinner banquet in honor of Sisi.
