Sanaa – Ali Rabea

Aden Airport authorities arrested a Sudanese Sanaa – Ali Rabea A security source said that Aden Airport authorities arrested a Sudanese suspected to be an Al-Qaeda member, while he was trying to take a flight heading to a Gulf state on Saturday. The source added that the Sudanese suspect, Nagi Othman, is registered in the list of wanted foreigners of the Yemeni security, adding that he believes the arrested is one of the most dangerous leaders of the organisation.
The arrest comes in light of previous news published by Yemeni local sources about Al-Qaeda breaking the Yemeni security.
Six Sudanese believed to be connected to Al-Qaeda were able to enter Yemen through Sanaa International Airport without getting an entry VISA.
They were arrested later in a security check point in Haja (north west Yemen) where the Yemeni intelligence arrested them and transferred them to Sanaa, where they were put into prison.
In another context, a huge funeral procession was held on Sunday by the Yemeni authorities for the soldiers killed in a suicide attack by Al-Qaeda on Friday on a Yemeni military camp in Abyan (south Yemen).
The funeral included 18 soldiers who were killed in Al-Qaeda revenge against the attacks launched on them by the Yemeni authorities, supported by US drones raid which led to the death of senior leaders of the organisation.
A close source of Al-Qaeda said on Sunday that among Al-Qaeda killed leaders, Adel al-Abbab the legitimate leader and the fourth man in the organisation, killed in first days of October in an air raid on Shabwa (south east Yemen).
While the funeral saw the participation of military and civil leaders, the Yemeni president Abd Rabu Mansour gave instructions to the army to extend its operations against Al-Qaeda in Abyan.
These came after receiving information about Al-Qaeda armed men spread again in areas surrounding Abyan.
Yemeni official news agency reported the names and military titles of the soldiers killed ini the attack, saying that the participants to the funeral asked the security authorities to pursue the organisation’s members and refer them to justice so they are punished for what they committed against Yemeni people.
At least six Al-Qaeda members attacked a military camp 155 infantry brigade of the Yemeni army, near coastal city Shaqra (Abyan) wearing military uniforms and explosive belts on board of a trapped car that exploded inside the camp. This led to the death of the attackers, in addition to the death and injury of more than 50 soldiers, among them two colonels.
