Sudan’s new Prime Minister Bakry Hassan Saleh was sworn-in before President Omar Hassan Al Bashir, as he was appointed in his new position on early Thursday during a meeting for the ruling National Conference Party.

The new Sudanese official said, in a press statement, “I express my appreciation to the Sudanese people and President Bashir who provide me with confidence to take such position during the current critical period witnessed in the country.”

He expressed his appreciation to the president’s confidence, stressing that he hopes to meet the aspirations of the people and to meet their demands. He praised the current measures taken to achieve political accordance in the framework of implementing the recommendations issued by the national dialogue.

He stressed that he will choose the members of his new government upon these recommendations, saying that the different political parties that participated in the national dialogue will be represented in the new government. He added, “The program of his government is based on achieving the recommendations of the Sudanese national dialogue, including improving the living of the Sudanese people and achieving security and stability in addition to achieving prosperity of the Sudanese people.”
