The Sudanese Armed Forces confirmed, Wednesday evening, it was in full control of the border of Al-Abiyad Lake after it pushed off aggression of Sudan’s Liberation Army (SPLA) from South
Sudan State.
In a statement issued by the Sudanese Armed Forces, the army said it now imposed full control on the area, adding that the SPLA of South Sudan had staged six attempts to capture Al-Abiyad lake area, the last one of them was staged Wednesday afternoon.
The Sudanese Armed Forces were able to surpass an ambush and control and secure the area, the statement added
The statement also mentioned the confiscation of a T55 tank and destruction of another one, as well as big quantities of artillery, machine guns and small arms.
The statement assured that the Sudanese Armed Forces reserves the right to respond to any aggression that targets Sudanese sovereign lands and it will continue its advancement until the full liberation of all of the Nuba Mountain area from rebellion attack.
