Members of Tunisian parliament's Rights and Freedoms Committee conducted a visit to Delinquent Children Center in Morouj to monitor the conditions of life in the centers and the ways to deal with the children imprisoned for different reasons.
Sources told "Arabs Today" that the number of imprisoned children in the center reached to 120, including a number of children accused of involving in terrorist actions.
Spokesperson of The Counter-Terrorism Judicial Pole Sophian Al Seleity said that a number of those children have been referred to the investigations due to their involvement in terrorist crimes. He added that the investigations have been conducted by specialized judges in the children cases.
He added that it is difficult to give specific number for those children seized by the terrorist groups, while the formal numbers, according to Tunisian Interior Ministry, is 290 children who have been used by extremists to commit terrorist action in addition to others have been used as shields during confrontations with security forces.
