The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court on Wednesday has sentenced three people to jail terms ranging from one to five years on charges of affiliation with a “terrorist organization.”
Two UAE nationals, identified by their initials as AHM and HSM, were sentenced to five and one year jail terms respectively over belonging to the Al Nusra Front; a Salafist jihadist terrorist organization fighting against the forces of the Syrian government.
The court also fined the first convict DHS 1 million and ordered the confiscation of computers seized with the second, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM.)
It also sentenced a Palestinian national to three years in jail, and ordered his deportation after serving the jail term.
The court also postponed looking into 11 other cases related to state security.
Authorities in the Gulf state have introduced and anti-terror legislation, including the death penalty and harsher jail terms for crimes linked to religious hatred and militant groups.
In November, the same court has sentenced two UAE locals to seven and 10 years jail terms over affiliation with the UAE-based Al Islah Islamist group, which is linked to the banned Muslim Brotherhood.
