Tribal sources revealed that the U.S turns to re-experience “the Awakening” in the Iraqi province of Anbar, as member of Arab and international committee on Syrian parliament Sagi Temma revealed that Damascus allowed the Iraqi troops to attack the strongholds of the extremist groups in Syria.
Tribal leader Sheikh Awad Al Jemeily said that the U.S troops in Anbar conducted meetings with tribal leaders, raising the necessity of restructuring the awakening forces to bear the responsibility of the security issue in the governorate during the coming period. He added that the forces managed to achieve security stability in the areas it controlled before.
He signaled that the American side promised to support these forces with money and weapons, as they did before in 2006 to support them for fighting against Qaeda extremist group.
On the military side, Iraqi security forces on Sunday stormed three more districts in the right bank of Mosul, Nineveh province, according to well-informed sources. The source said Iraqi joint troops of police and army stormed Bab el-Tob, al-Naft and Al-Resala neighborhoods and raided a number of houses.
The source said the Iraqi forces rampaged several buildings and arrested a number of civilians over suspicion of belonging to the terrorist group of ISIS.
Anti-extremism troops, on their hand, managed to liberate a number of districts, including Al Mansour, and Shohada. They controlled gas and power stations in addition to a station to distribute the oil products. They also liberated a number of buildings at Molameen district killing a number of extremists. They also destroyed a large number of bombing wheels and a laboratory to make bombs.
Local sources revealed that the International Coalition’s fighter jets managed to destroy one of the major headquarters of ISIS in Nineveh at Refaei district. They added that the bombardment led to the killing of dozens of the extremist militants, saying that they group prevented the residents from approaching.
According to the sources, the Iraqi troops managed to liberate Badosh prison raising the Iraqi flags overits walls. The Iraqi forces currently work to inspect its cells. The federal police also liberated 10 prisoners trotures by the extremist elements of ISIS.
According to a security source, the Iraqi troops managed to restore 90 percent of Mousl's Jadeed district, adding that they also controlled large swath of Mansour district in the southern side of the city.
In the same context, the security forces liberated the governmental complex in Nineveh in addition to a number of districts, including Dendan, and Dawasa.
On his hand, Spokesperson of anti-extremism troops Sabah Al Noman revealed that the Iraqi troops achieve notable success upon the plan drafted to liberate Mousl. He described the liberation of the governmental complex as a turning point in the current military operations.
He stressed that they give the priority to the protection of civilians, saying that the extremist militias destroyed the infrastructure of the city's right bank. The military Intelligence Directorate revealed that the Iraqi troops managed to kill a number of militants’ leaders, including Abu Omar and Abu Fatima Al Kasoli.
