Al-Qaeda Sudanese suspect arrested in Aden

Yemeni authorities arrested an Arab suspect believed to be member of Al-Qaeda while attempting to leave to a Gulf country through Aden International airport On Thursday.

in Aden airport about the arrest of a Sudanese suspect believed to be an Al-Qaeda member.
The suspect Naji Othman is included in Yemeni security's list of wanted foreigners and is believed to be one of the most dangerous Al-Qaeda leaders.
As a part of its plan to pursue persons wanted by security, authorities said they arrested another suspect in a separate operation in Aden.
The security media centre of the Yemeni Ministry of Interior said on Thursday that the security authorities arrested two suspects in Aden, believed to belong to terrorist organisations.
It added that one of the suspects is Arab (N.H. Othoman), who was arrested while attempting to leave the country, heading to a gulf country.
The governmental source said the other suspect was arrested in a separate operation in Sheikh Othman city of Aden. The suspect (M.E. A. Omar, 28-years-old), who is from Jaar, Abyan (south Yemen), was arrested within the applied plan to pursue suspects in Abyan, believed to be members of “Ansar al-Sharia” which is a connected to al-Qaeda.
The UN Envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar left the country on Thursday after holding several meetings with different Yemeni officials and parties of the political settlement, intensifying his efforts to communicate with the parties which refused to participate in the comprehensive national dialogue.
Benomar said all the Yemeni political parties have a strong determination to resolve the issues in a fair way, including the issue of the south.
Leaving Sanaa Airport, he explained in a press statement to reporters that he held several meetings with the political parties and groups of the south movement to discuss this historic chance to resolve the south issue through dialogue.
Benomar said that the National dialogue preparatory committee approved the south issue as one of the issues to be discussed in the dialogue conference in a special work group and with the active participation of the south movement.
Benomar added that the dialogue committee would hopefully present its final report about drafting the conference regulations and submit it to the Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi after al-Adha feast holidays.
