Abidal has been training with Barcelona since October
Barcelona defender Eric Abidal has been added to the illustrious list of speakers for the seventh Dubai International Sports Conference (DISC), towards the end of December.
The two-day annual conference will be held at
the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel on December 28 and 29. Abidal, who won his battle with liver cancer, will feature alongside UEFA President Michel Platini, Barcelona President Alexandre Rosell, Russian national team coach Fabio Capello and Atletico Madrid’s Colombian striker Radamel Falcao.
The conference is organised by the Dubai Sports Council, with support from the government of Dubai. The aim is to reflect on the development of sport in the United Arab Emirates and gain inspiration from global sporting figures. Over the last few years, the focus has been on football, due to its growing popularity in the Middle East.
Last year, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero were keynote speakers at the sixth Dubai International Sports Conference.
