Algiers – Hocine Bousaleh
Algeria’s Desert Foxes beat Libya in a very close match after Hillel Soudani scored the only goal in the 88th minute of the match.
The Algerian national team were victorious in Casablanca,
Morocco giving the Desert Foxes advantage in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2013.
The first half saw a wasted opportunity when Algeria’s Fouad Kadir missed a great ball by Slimani in the 14th minute ending the first half as 0-0.
With the start of the second half, Algeria’s coach changed the game plan replacing an injured Kadamoro with Saad Tagaar. However, this change led to nothing as throughout the match, the Libyan team were in control of the ball. In the last fifteen minutes of the match, Hillel Soudani replaced Fouad Kadir, activating an aggressive attack from the Algerian side. A brilliant pass from Slimani and an artistic move from the superstar, Sofiane Feghouli in the 88th minute enabled Soudani to score a winning goal.
The Libyan players tried to get back in the game in the final few minutes, but tension and rashness deprived them from reaching the net. The match on the Moroccan territory ended with a very close victory, paving the way for Algeria to qualify for the African Cup of Nations 2013.
