Margaret Thatcher was in power from 1979 to 1990
London - Arabstoday

Margaret Thatcher was in power from 1979 to 1990 British football and cricket bodies will not request clubs to hold a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for the former Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The 87-year-old died in London on Monday after suffering a stroke. She won three successive general elections and was head of government from 1979 to 1990.
The English Football Association (FA) did not request Manchester United and Manchester City to mark the leader's death before their derby match on Monday night.
Ahead of next weekend's Premier League games and the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, the FA has no plans at present to mark Thatcher's death.
The decision would be left to individual clubs as to whether they want to pay tribute.
The county cricket season starts on Wednesday, but so far no team has any plans to mark Thatcher's passing.
