The Moroccan Athletic legend, and former Olympic champion Said Aouita Rabat – Rachid Bougha The Moroccan Athletic legend, and former Olympic champion Said Aouita, attacked the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation on Al Jazeerah Sport Firday night, sayig that the failure of Moroccan athletes in recent years was expected and was the fault of the Moroccan Sports Federation.
Aouita accused the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation of being “dirty”, after Moroccan runners at this year's Olympics failed the doping test.  Aouia said “If they let me lead the team, I’d clean it from A to Z.  I’m ready because it’s a national interest before everything,”
Officials for the Moroccan national sports affairs agreed on Friday that the successive failures of Moroccan Athletes and their inablility to achieve positive results at the Olympic championships in London “were unexpected and uncovered the failure of the concerned sports federations.”
Noureddine Benabdenbi, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Morocco, said that the sport federations “received enough financial support to enable them to prepare their players in better conditions and according to international standards, but unfortunately the results were not at the level of these efforts and were without ambitions.”
Benabdenbi said a full evaluation will take place once the disgraced athletes return home: “It’s too late to go into details, but after returning home, and awaiting the conclusion of the Olympics, there will be a general evaluation and an accurate diagnosis upon which some decisions will be taken. Of course many things will have to change.”
Benabdenbi pointed out that it was not so important for Morocco to win medals but there was an emphasis on having “an honorable representation, in the first place” and  “in contrast to that, failure in the performance of the task, the competitions were left in the first rounds after years of preparations..are all gone with the wind.”
General secretary of the Ministry of youth and sport, Karim Akkari, said that the ministry – as co-supervisor with the National Olympic Committee – is comfortable with the primary achieved targets, which are represented in reaching a record in the qualified athletes for London Olympics, making up 70 athletes in 12 specialities.
Akkari expressed his sorrow at the Olympic doping scandal involving Moroccan athletes, and said efforts had “failed, in spite of the preparation programmes including training courses and sessions in Morocco or abroad"  Akkari said the current Olympic Games “was characterised by strong and fierce competition, in the time where Morocco lacks international sports heros who aspire to achieve medals in this global sports events."
The same Ministry official said dream of achieving a medal remians ‘legitimate’ only within the athletics and Taikwondo. He continued, saying that the setup programme of elite athletes is “encouraging for the heroes and helps us make achievements."
