Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al-Qasimi (C) H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, yesterday opened the Museum of the late Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, which was established by Emirati citizen, Mohammed Ahmed bin Hajar Al-Shehhi, at his home in Al Seeh, Ras Al-Khaimah.
Sheikh Saud commended the private initiatives of Emirati people to preserve national heritage and to preserve the national and historical heritage of the U.A.E., being an integral part of the process of social and economic development of the country.
Sheikh Saud noted that such these individual initiatives confirm the growing cultural awareness among members of the community of the importance of safeguarding the ancient heritage and preserve it from extinction and the transfer of these national heritage from one generation to another as one of the main tributaries of the Emirati identity.
During his tour in the Museum, Sheikh Saud praised the heritage items, which reflect the originality and the legacy of the life of parents and ancestors.
For his part, Mohammed Al Shehhi stressed that the choice of the name of the late Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi comes to honour his march of giving and goodness and construction achieved at the national level and in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The opening of the Museum was attended by Sheikh Abdul Malek bin Kayed Al-Qassimi, Special Advisor to Ras Al-Khaimah Ruler, along with a number of senior officials.
