More than 65,000 people visited the Ramadan and Eid Fair, the Sharjah Ramadan Festival activities and the Islamic Culture Capital celebrations currently under way at the Expo Centre Sharjah in the first fortnight of Ramadan.
"This is the first time that Expo Centre Sharjah is playing host to the entire Sharjah Ramadan Festival programmes along with the Ramadan and Eid Fair. This is also for the first time that Sharjah is witnessing such grand celebrations reflecting Islamic culture in all its literary, artistic, intellectual and spiritual splendour," said Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah.
"Apart from the events and activities of the Ramadan and Eid Fair targeted at the entire family, we have seen great visitor interest in the Islamic Book Fair, the Ramadan Majlis, theatrical performances, Islamic lectures, seminars and panel discussions. Most of the Ramadan-related activities have been launched and are in full swing now," said Midfa.
The Ramadan and Eid Fair will be held until July 28th, while the Sharjah Ramadan Festival events will continue at Expo Centre until July 31st. Key attractions at the fair include a multi-cuisine food court, games and workshops for children, heritage village, charity corner and raffle draws, among others.
More than 100 companies are displaying an extensive range of lifestyle products at the fair, with the ‘Taste of Ramadan' section, which features live cookery demonstrations, celebrity chefs and tasting sessions, becoming an instant hit with visitors of all ages.
