Fneish said: "In 2010 we began to update our strategy of developing the general administrative body of the Lebanese government, in order to establish a modern and efficient administration. We aim to apply the government's policies and provide essential services to citizens in the most efficient and smooth way, by relying on human resources that are well qualified to deal with modern systems."
Meanwhile, Eijhorst said: "The EU believes that its commitment with the Lebanese government will be a reliable factor in achieving good governance in Lebanon. You can rely on the consistent commitment of the EU to support Lebanon on that side."
A statement issued by the EU said: "This programme is dedicated to the ministries of tourism, industry, health care, and social affairs, along with the institutions of general audit, and the civil service council. We aim to improve the quality of general services provided by the Lebanese government by working on four main points, which are: Strategic planning, managing human resources and simplifying procedures, improving general audit monitoring and updating supply systems for governmental deals."
