H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry received, last week, a delegation from Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) that comprised H.E. MianHumayunParvez President of RCCI and ManzarKhurshid Shaikh Chairman of RCCI Global Achievement Awards and RCCI former president.
The two delegations held a meeting at SCCI headed by H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais and attended by Mohammed Amin, Assistant Director General for Economic and International Affairs Section, and Fatema Al Muqarrab, Head of Economic Cooperation & Foreign Relations Section.
H.E. MianHumayunParvez invited H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais to participate in the Pakistani RCCI Annual Achievement Awards ceremony that recognizes excellent performance and innovation by companies and entrepreneurs.  The 29th Edition of the Awards ceremony will take place for the first time outside Pakistan, in Dubai, UAE September 25, 2016.
Both sides held talks on means that would strengthen bilateral cooperation.  Visiting Pakistani delegation expressed interest in organizing such ceremony in the Emirate of Sharjah in the coming years due to what characterizes Sharjah as a professional attractive environment for investment and favorable business destination,  possesses the kinds of legislations and laws that facilitate trade flow, and represents a safe haven for growth to the commercial and industrial sector in line with the wise vision of H.H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The two delegations agreed that SCCI to invite traders and representatives from the business sector in the emirate to take more effective participation in the upcoming event, which is considered to be unique on the world stage.
After the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais escorted members of the visiting delegation on a tour around SCCI, where they were briefed about the chamber’s various facilities.  They visited the chamber’s permanent exhibition, which is dedicated for local industrial products, that hosts more than 100 factories from various sectors.  The delegation received a brief on the most important services, which are provided by SCCI to facilitate the work of companies, and the business sector in the emirate.  SCCI has been keen in consolidating the status of Sharjah as an investment destination for local and international companies and business sectors, positively and effectively contributing in prospering the national economy.
SCCI aims at attracting more companies, industries and investments to the Emirate of Sharjah and expanding the investment base so to be reflected positively on the local economy of the emirate and the entire UAE.  The visiting delegation members expressed their much impression with the various industries and activities that Sharjah has in all professional, commercial and industrial domains.
SCCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RCCI in 2007.  The MoU outlined a number of articles and topics that would contribute in boosting bilateral work and cooperation between the two sides.  One of the most important articles in the MoU addressed the need by both sides to provide assistance for official scholarships, commercial and trade delegations between Sharjah and Rawalpindi, in addition to offering support to members of both chambers.
