Desperate Housewives stars
Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria will pick a staggering £12million to stay
on Wisteria Lane making them the highest paid actresses on US television.
After months of intense behind-the-scenes negotiations, the four actresses have finalised eight-figure deals for two more series.
The actresses will pick up a staggering £250,000-an-episode for the eighth and ninth seasons of the smash-hit show.
A source said: 'We had to get the girls back. The show simply earns too much money to stop making it.'
The foursome currently take home around £180,000-an-episode.
A source said: 'Like in previous salary renegotiations, Hatcher brokered her deal separately from Huffman, Cross and Longoria.'
Additionally, holding up the final stretch of the marathon talks was the fact that Marcia Cross hired a new lawyer about a week ago
With Hatcher, Huffman, Longoria and Cross on board, as well as the newest housewife, Vanessa Williams, who will also return next season, the only question remaining was the extent of creator/executive producer Cherry's involvement.
He had said he was planning to leave Desperate Housewives after the current seventh season.
With his new ABC project Hallelujah picked up to pilot, Desperate Housewives executive producer Bob Daily will helm the show while Cherry is working on his pilot and is expected to continue to do so if Hallelujah is picked up for a full series.
Despite slipping in the ratings from its heyday, Desperate Housewives is still a huge success in the USA as well as worldwide.
