Actor Hussein Fahmy expressed his graduate to Alexandria Film Festival administration for dedicating the 33rd session of the festival to him to honor his career, which will start on October 7 and last to October 12.
Fahmy received head of the festival critic, Amir Abaza, festival vice president critic, Sayed Mahmoud and manager of the festival journalist, Mohammed Kenawi, praising the festival and its contributions since it first began. Fahmy always makes sure to attend the festival, participates in its events and sometimes joins the festival judges committee.
He expressed his great happiness for be being honored through this festival session, and he chose “Shame” movie to be displayed during the festival to honor his late friends actors Nour El Sherif and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
Critic Amir Abaza said that, dedicating this session to Hussein Fahmy is because of his important position in the field, as he was and still one of the best actors in the last 50 years, he worked as a filming directing professor at the Academy of Arts for 12 years, he was head of Cairo International Film Festival for 4 years, and performed in more than 115 films during his career. He added that, Hussein Fahmy combined between charisma and talent and was able to diversify in his roles and characters. He presented many movies such as, Love fire, Hekmat Fahmy, Playing with sharks, Monsters’ chasing, The Woman, Shame, A dinner date, Watch out gentlemen, My love princess, Enemy brothers and Take care of Zozo, and he also won many awards in local and international cinema festivals.
Abaza said that, there will be a big ceremony for Hussein Fahmy on the third day of the festival and it will be attended by number of actors and actresses, directors and few of his students. There will also be a seminar to talk about his career, a documentary about his artistic life, a program for his favorite movies and a study for his cinema.
