Adel Imam Egyptian star Adel Imam has said that some of his movies, particularly "Morgan Ahmed Morgan" and "al-Noum fil Assal" (Deep Sleep), had predicted the poor performance of the current Egyptian parliament. "My movies predicted the current dreadful shape of the parliament's sessions, you can see that what happens in the sessions is fairly comparable to the comic scenes of my movies 'Morgan Ahmed Morgan' and 'al-Noum fil Assal'," Adel said to Arabstoday. The veteran comic actor added: "I urge the house speaker Saad al-Katatni to concentrate on the real problems facing the Egyptian people instead of targeting artists. I don't think I need to be more direct." Adel told Arabstoday that he kept following the violent events currently taking place in Cairo's Abbassiya district, saying he prayed for the crisis to be over in order to avoid more bloodshed, and for Egypt to "restore its leading role on both regional and international fronts".
