Syrian artist Majd el-Kassem Cairo – Taha Hafiz Syrian artist Majd el-Kassem is extremely concerned about the situation of his country. In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, the famous singer spoke about his ongoing concerns: “I am in a state of constant fear and worry, I can't live my life normally because of what my country is facing. All I see is dead people and destruction everywhere, I am very upset."
El-Kassem added: “The situation has become very scary here and everything we've tried has failed. People are helpless, we're now waiting for God to find the solution. The conflict is now affecting neighbouring countries and it could become a catastrophe for the whole of the Middle East. I visited Syria  a year ago but the situation was not like this and I hope to go soon when the situation is stable.”
The singer will release his new album, “Hob Wala Gholb” (Love or Suffer), during Eid-Al-Adha (Sacrifice festival) in Sharm el-Sheikh.
El-Kassem further articulated: “I will not release five songs about Syria, only because I have already done so. A journalist asked me if I would write songs about Syria, but he misunderstood my response and published that I would be releasing an additional five new songs."
Talking about the Naby El Tasamoh (Prophet of Tolerance) concert, the Syrian star added: “I am so glad I did it. It is the best response we could have thought of to this anti-Islam film. I would like to produce it as well."
The singer added that he might introduce a new series saying: "I'm currently reading the script. I would like to produce it since my project on Farid el-Atrash (Syrian-Egyptian singer) didn't work out."
