Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbi
Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbi confirmed to Arabstoday that rumours which have been circulating in some Arabic websites, that she has been kidnapped by an armed gang in Egypt are false,
and believes these rumours, are an attempt to mislead her fanbase in Russia which includes Lebanese and Arab expatriates, who were attending her concert in Moscow
Wehbi, in a telephone call to Arabstoday, described the rumours as "ridiculous" and the intention of those who circulated it, she said, "is to take the limelight away from the success of my latest CD for the Arab and commercial market. "So many bad things and untrue stories have been said about me recently, but with my strength and the success of my art, I can rise above this."
Haifa Wehbi's latest album is called 'Malikat Jamal Al Kawn'.
