American singer Rihanna
Rihanna changed the lyrics to her song Pour it Up to include references to Palestine during a performance in Tel Aviv, Israel.
While touring the Middle East, the Barbadian singer also caused controversy by posing in the Sheikh Zayed Mosque
in Abu Dhabi in a hijab.
Rihanna made her audience of 50,000 in Tel Aviv wait for two and a half hours before hitting the stage wearing a black spiked headband and black jacket. “Thank you Tel Aviv!” she said. “You know I love my friends all over the world, but it’s been too long since I’ve been back here in Tel Aviv.”
During Pour it Up, Rihanna elected to insert some pro-Palestinian lyrics in place of her originals.
Instead of singing “All I see is signs / All I see is dollar signs,” she sang “All I see is Palestine.” It’s also been pointed out that she repeatedly said “Tel Aviv!” in every song but never once said the word Israel.
Rihanna, one of the most successful artists in the world today, spent just 12 hours in Israel this week – including a dip in the Dead Sea and showing up late for her own concert, which was quite disappointing.
R&B singing sensation performs in Tel Aviv several hours after landing in Israel on private jet, spends time before show showing off her bikini in lowest place on earth. Fans disappointed as concert begins one hour late, some of Rihanna's greatest hits left out.
