Lebanese singer Walid may release a new song soon
Beirut – Sleiman Asfahany
Lebanese singer Walid Tawfik has told Arabstoday that he will perform a New Year’s Eve concert in Greece, playing to an audience of Lebanese and Arab expats. The singer said the tensions racking some Arab countries
have prompted some stars to consider immigrating to western countries, particularly those with thriving Arab communities, in light of the lack of work opportunities in their home countries.
The singer added that he was himself against emigration and had not considered it, even during the years of the Lebanese civil war, due to his inability to keep homesickness at bay. Tawfik also told Arabstoday he had many projects up his sleeve which have been delayed due to the crises that have been hitting the Arab region. However, he said he may release a song after the New Year.
