Singer Rihanna sightseeing with a friend in Rabat, Morocco
US pop star Rihanna kicked-off Morocco’s Mawazine Global Music Festival in Rabat on Saturday. The starlet reportedly made history, opening to the biggest crowd the festival has ever seen - 150,000.
Unusually for the often scantily-clad singer, Rihanna wore a dress considered to be the most conservative outfit of her entire career. The out of character fashion choice came in respect of the mostly Muslim Moroccan audience. Sources from the festival say Rihanna was keen to wear an outfit that respected the traditions of the country. She expressed her respect and appreciation for her Moroccan fans in a short speech during her set.
After an energetic and well-received show of her biggest hits, the songstress was spotted roaming the streets of the Capital Rabat.
Rihanna soaked up the vast culture the city has to offer, accompanied by one of her friends. The singer was spotted taking pictures and admiring the country’s history and appeared not to have her usual delegation of bodyguards in tow.
Her presence naturally garnered much attention from locals who recognised the international star. The streets of Rabat quickly turned into a fashion and photography show as more people were alerted to her presence.
